Battambang

  1. Battambang
  2. Cambodia

Battambang, Cambodia's second-largest city and the former capital of Monton Kmer, was founded in the 11th century. Located in northwest Cambodia, the city is situated along the Sangker River, a tranquil, small body of water that winds its way through Battambang Province. As with much of Cambodia, French architecture is an attractive contributor to the city's peaceful vibes.

Cambodia's Temples and Islands

A quick detour will bring you to Phnom Sampeou's natural caves lined with Buddhist shrines and statues before heading off to Phnom Penh to see its regal sites and firsthand examples of the brutality of the Khmer Rouge.
