Day 1: Luang Prabang

Early risers can enjoy a dawn visit to watch the monks collecting alms. As the sun begins to rise, long lines of orange-robed monks leave their pagodas and walk barefoot down the streets collecting offerings from Luang Prabang residents.&nbsp;After breakfast at your hotel, you will travel to the historic old town where the tour begins at the fresh market. Accompanied by a guide, walk through rows of stalls selling everything from fresh produce, new fruits and local specialties.Next, we will visit the former Royal Palace. Now the home of the National Museum, the site is filled with art, artifacts, and jewels offering insight into the country's history and rich culture.&nbsp;The tour then continues in Luang Prabang with stops at some of the city’s most important temples. Start at Wat Visoun, home to the famous “watermelon” stupa, and progress to Wat Aham..In the afternoon we will head to Ock Pop Tok to learn more about textiles in Laos, including their history, production, and cultural significance. At sunset, you can climb the nearby temple-topped hill of Mount Phousi for a spectacular view of the town and the river.&nbsp;From there, you can explore the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles from local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 2: Luang Prabang 

Your day will start with a short, guided tour of the city’s oldest temple, Wat Mai, and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong. With its roofs sweeping low to the ground, it represents classical Laotian architecture.&nbsp;You will then board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River that offers panoramic views of the tranquil countryside. Along the way, we will stop to visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves filled with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Finally, the small village of Ban Xanghai provides a chance to learn how the local rice wine is distilled.&nbsp;We will return to Luang Prabang in the afternoon by car and then continue our excursion toward Khouangsi Waterfall. En route, we will visit local villages home to Lao ethnic minority groups and then drive to the beautiful waterfall where you can splash around in the turquoise pools or walk along forest trails.&nbsp;By late afternoon, we will return to Luang Prabang and continue to Ban Xangkhong, a village well known for silk handweaving and traditional Saa Paper making.&nbsp;We will return to your hotel in the late evening.Overnight in Lauang Prabang.

Day 3: Luang Prabang - Pakou Caves - Kuangsi Waterfall

Breakfast at your hotel.Enjoy free time until traveling by private car to the Luang Prabang High- Speed Railway station or the International Luang Prabang Airport for domestic travel to Vietniane.&nbsp;Upon arrival in Vientiane, a guide will take you to your hotel for check in via private car before going to see the city's major points of interest including Wat Sisaket, a temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues, as well as Wat Prakeo, the former royal temple, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image.&nbsp;On the way to the famous and sacred That Luang Stupa structure, we will stop to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is sometimes understood as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. You can watch the sunset along the Mekong river and spend the evening absorbing the city’s nightlife.&nbsp;Overnight in Vientiane.
