Day 1: Siem Reap

Breakfast at the hotel.Start at 08:00 with a visit to the South Gate of Angkor Thom where statues of the gods of good and evil line the entrance. Your next stop is the Bayon, known for the hundreds of smiling faces that grace the towers. The bas-reliefs are quite impressive and tell stories of daily life and the great battles that were fought between the Khmers and ancient Thais. Move on to Phimeanakas, a structure shaped like a pyramid with two ponds in the rear that were used once for religious rituals but today serve as swimming pools for Khmer children. Walk to the top of the temple for impressive views of the Angkor complex.See the rows of elephant trunks that form the wall of the Terrace of the Elephants, a platform from which King Jayavarman surveyed his army. The nearby Terrace of Leper Kings includes a statue depicting Yana, the Hindu god of death. It's then a short drive to one of the most beloved temples of all - Ta Prohm. The small, crumbling temple is held together by giant tree roots giving it a magical feel. Day 2: Siem Reap

Breakfast at the hotel.Start at 08:00am for a 2-3 hour visit to the town of Battambang. Admire its crumbling French colonial architecture, fertile soil and rubies.Visit Phnom Sampeou, or “Ship Mountain." and the Bat cave. The legendary 100-meter-high mountain, topped by Wat Sampeou, contains 3 natural caves lined with Buddhist shrines and statues: Pkasla, Lakhaon and Aksopheak. Pkasla Cave is full of uprooted stones and a location for locals to visit to celebrate a marriage. Bat Cave is home to an amazing spectacle every dusk when millions of bats exit to begin their nightly feasting. A black streak stretching across the sky, they form an undulating curtain of noise before dispersing on a horizon illuminated by starlight. The magnificent scene lasts for nearly an hour.The tour ends at around 6:30pm.Overnight in Battambang.

Day 4: Battambang - Phnom Penh

Breakfast at the hotel.Start your tour at around 8:30 am with a visit to the Royal Palace overlooking the confluence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap Rivers. Built in 1866 by King Norodom, the palace is now home to the reigning monarch. Within the palace grounds, you will find the coronation hall, an open-air theatre for the Royal Dance Troupe, and the King's private residence. The grounds are open to the public except when the King is in residence. The grounds also house the Silver Pagoda, its floor covered by 5,000 silver tiles each weighing 1 kilogram.&nbsp;Then visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, which documents the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge against both their political enemies and many thousands of everyday Cambodians. In 1975 the former high school was taken over by Pol Pot's security forces and converted into Security Prison 21 (S-21). It soon became the largest detention and torture center in the country.&nbsp;Note: The images on display at the museum are quite graphic and unsettlingTravel to the Choeung Ek (Killing Fields), where 17,000 men, women and children were brutally executed. The large mass graves have all but gone, however, the stupa filled with skulls remains a chilling memorial.Return to the hotel at around 6:00 pm.Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 5: Phnom Penh

Breakfast at the hotel.At 8:00am, a private car will transfer you from Phnom Penh to the Sihanoukville coast where you will continue by speed ferry to Koh Rong, a five hours ride.Overnight in Koh Rong.
